Building Maintenance Supervisor
Job Summary
The Building Maintenance Supervisor ensures the effective and safe operation of all buildings owned and operated by MRCI in Mankato and Kasota. Responsibilities include the oversight and management of all routine maintenance of building systems and the management of building repairs and renovations. The supervisor is also responsible for the custodial cleaning staff at MRCI Mankato and any contracted services provided at other MRCI facilities and the operation of the MRCI cafeteria.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Schedules and provides oversight of general maintenance at all MRCI owned properties in Mankato and Kasota.
- Provides oversight of monthly facility self-inspections to identity safety/hazard issues and repair/maintenance needs, at all Mankato and Kasota facilities.
- Schedules repairs of building systems as identified and requested by MRCI staff in a timely manor
- Supervises custodial staff and clients assigned to janitorial tasks.
- Arranges and maintains contracted services with outside service vendors, including snow plowing, lawn care and HVAC services at all Mankato and Kasota facilities.
- Gives direction and provides oversight of all major repair/remodeling projects at Mankato and Kasota facilities, including obtaining bids and management of construction projects.
- Places orders for and controls inventory of all cleaning and other supplies for all facilities in Mankato.
- Manages the general operations of the Map Drive cafeteria, including vending services.
- Provides a high level of customer service to all staff and clients who utilize facilities in Mankato and Kasota.
- Responsible for other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education/Experience
- A High school graduate or equivalence; and three to five years of experience in general facility management, including management of repairs.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Experience with ordering supplies and maintaining inventory.
- Experience with safety programs, including ability to identify hazards and make corrections as needed.
- Must be cognizant of all FDA and Department of Health regulations.
- Strong supervisory skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Valid driver's license, clean driving record and reliable transportation to use for work driving purposes.
Physical Requirements
Positions in this class typically require: sitting, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Environment
May be exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes and odors.
