CDS Continuous Improvement Coordinator
Job Summary:
The CDS Continuous Improvement Coordinator (CIC) provides support to the CDS Leaders by being the conduit between Accounting, Programs and the Document Retention Team. In addition, being able to work with MRCI Support Departments (IT, Payroll, Corporate Accounting, etc.), as well as, outside vendors/partners. The CDS CIC will also assist in facilitation of special projects involving data gathering and analysis, process improvements, and other oversight responsibilities that come with working at a nonprofit organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Through direction from CDS Leaders, coordinate CDS workflow processes (with internal and external facing teams)
- Act as a liaison between Accounting staff, Program staff and Document Retention Team:
- Cross train between the accounting and Program staff
- Work on large projects between the three teams
- Assist with training of new software
Act as a liaison between CDS and outside vendors (AK, Cashe, ADP, etc.):
- Work with our vendors on new or existing projects, be the point person for communications going to the vendors
- Network with the vendors to ensure MRCI needs are being meet
- Work with software vendors to select the right time for updates so it does not interfere with peak hours
Act as a liaison between CDS and MRCI (IT, PR, Corp. Accounting):
- Work with the other departments like IT to have accurate reports that fit CDS's needs
- Work with the accounting department to break down budget needs like software vendors and when updates can be done
- Is responsible as a key role in the search, conversion and implementation of new systems including but not limited to: billing, accounts receivable, budget, inter-system communication, business systems, processes and efficiencies.
- Be a problem solver that can help improve efficiencies throughout CDS.
- Adapt to new technologies that help drive change and overcome obstacles throughout CDS.
- Identify, implement and oversee process improvements in line with best practices to minimize manual efforts across the department in conjunction with Management Team.
- Develop appropriate testing and document completion, and confirm project milestone achievement and, ultimately, project completion all while keeping the department informed of milestones.
- Communicate with the IT Department, vendors, and other MRCI business work groups about milestone acceptance, failures and remedies, and manages to resolution.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of project activities; make or recommend project modifications. Conduct management reviews of progress and conformance with time lines, budgets and scope.
- Secure confidential information to protect staff, clients and proprietary knowledge.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Analysis, Finance or Systems Management and at least two (2) years data analysis, financial analysis experience required.
- Three to five (3-5) years relevant experience in tracking, reporting, and /or analyzing business processes and statistics preferred.
- Knowledge of financial and accounting principles and procedures, including reporting, analysis, forecasting and budgeting.
- Ability to be a Super User in CDS software systems.
- Strong applied knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required for financial reporting or database systems.
- Demonstrated initiative ability to work both efficiently and independently, set priorities, develop schedules, and react to changing circumstances in a time-sensitive manner.
- Impeccable analysis, critical-thinking, problem-solving, presentation and writing skills
- Team leadership and vendor management - Able to set direction, build relationships, effectively prioritize, organize and coordinate team members, vendors and projects.
- Desire to work closely with management in a visible role within the organization.
- Personal and professional integrity, flexibility, high-energy, positive attitude and desire for team and process leadership.
- High comfort-level and ability to practice discretion with confidential information
- Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
- Clear a MN Department of Human Services background check and physical exam to demonstrate the ability to perform the physical demands of the job.
