CDS Program Specialist

MRCI WorkSource, founded in 1953, is a non-profit community rehabilitation program with Day Training & Habilitation, Extended Employment, MFIP, and Fiscal Support Services.  We have partnered with the State of Minnesota for over 16 years to provide fiscal management services statewide for recipients choosing self-directed services.  We currently provide Fiscal Support Services to individuals with PCA Choice, Consumer Directed Community Supports (CDCS) and Consumer Support Grant (CSG).  As a certified Fiscal Support Entity, we assist individuals in using funding sources such as Medicaid, as well as private pay and Veterans Administration dollars to pay for help, in order to remain at home.

Due to the recent growth in the CDS department, MRCI is hiring for a fulltime Client Directed Services (CDS) Program Specialist.

 

Job Summary: The CDS Program Specialist at MRCI is responsible for understanding and implementing all of the processes required for the CDS program.  The individual in this position markets MRCI CDS services to county personnel and clients/representatives in private and public forums, assists to maintain a strong customer-focused culture. Further, this individual remains current with State and Federal rules and regulations that affect the program. Additionally, the Program Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the functions of all tools, web-based and otherwise, that are utilized by the department for the purpose of providing Financial Management Services. As an employee of MRCI, this individual is expected and required to maintain the highest ethical standards.

 

  1. Responsible for understanding all Client Directed Services (CDS) programs and for communicating details of all of these programs to clients, representatives, families and county personnel.
  2. Remain current with legislative changes, and State and county trends that effect MRCI's CDS programs; respond as needed by assisting with the development of new practices and procedures, and developing CDS' best practices.
  3. Educate oneself ongoing about IRS, DOL, Workers' Compensation, Minnesota Revenue, etc. rules and regulations.
  4. Input new budgets, process plan revisions, assist in the processing of payroll, vendor payments, reimbursements and all other processes that are part of providing service to the department's customers; track spending and assist with mailings. 
  5. Be a leader and point of contact during the implementation, utilization and maintenance of all web-based and non-web-based tools that are used for the purpose of providing Financial Management Services in participant-directed programs.

 

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

 

  • Prefer at least three years of human services experience in the areas of customer service or direct service to clients.
  • Prefer a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Strong customer service, writing, reading and interpersonal communication abilities, as well as strong problem solving and reasoning skills.
  • Proficient in utilizing the Microsoft Office suite, specifically Word, Excel, and Access, and has been responsible for data base management, for a period of three years or longer.

Hold a valid Driver's license and be willing to travel up
