CDS Specialist

Job Summary: The CDS Specialist at MRCI is responsible for understanding and implementing all of the processes required for the CDS program.  The individual in this position markets MRCI CDS services to county personnel and clients/representatives in private and public forums, assists to maintain a strong customer-focused culture, remains current with legislative changes that affect the program, and works independently with minimal supervision. As an employee of MRCI, this individual is expected and required to maintain the highest ethical standards.

 

Essential Responsibilities/Duties:

  1. Responsible for understanding the Client Directed Services (CDS) programs (including PCA Choice) and for communicating details of all of these programs to clients, representatives, families and county personnel.
  2. Recognize that customer service and customer satisfaction is an integral part of the CDS program, and promote systems that assure appropriate and timely service, and maintain a strong customer-focused culture.
  3. Work with minimal supervision, and independently make decisions based on an understanding of the CDS program, of DHS rules and regulations, and of county guidelines for financial management of federal, state and county funds.
  4. Remain current with legislative changes and county trends that effect MRCI's CDS programs; respond as needed by assisting with the development of new practices and procedures. Work with the individual counties, DHS and/or other providers to develop CDS 'best practices'.
  5. Process new employee packets and status change forms as needed; contact clients or representatives for required information and documents.
  6. Input new budgets, process plan revisions, assist in the processing of payroll, vendor payments, reimbursements and all other processes that are part of providing service to the department's customers; track spending and assist with mailings. 
  7. Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications/Requirements: The CDS Specialist position at MRCIrequires at least three years of human services experience in the areas of customer service or direct service to clients. In addition, the individual in this position is required to have strong writing, reading and interpersonal communication abilities, as well as strong problem solving and reasoning skills. The CDS Specialist position also requires demonstrated proficiency in computer based office software, including Word and Excel, excellent customer service skills, a valid Driver's license, a reliable vehicle, and the ability and willingness to travel throughout Minnesota.

 

Education/Experience: A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, plus at least three years of human services experience in the areas of customer service or direct service to clients.
