Chief Operations Officer

Using an extensive educational and experiential base, the Chief Operational Officer is responsible for providing broad leadership and planning for MRCI client employment operations organization wide. The Chief Operations Officer may serve as Vice Chair of the MRCI Management Team and acts in absence of the Chief Executive Officer and as their extension in organization activities.  The Chief Operations Officer attends meetings of the Board of Directors and participates on the board Finance and Building committees.  As an employee of MRCI, this individual is expected and required to maintain the highest ethical standards.    

1. Foster innovation, collaboration and program development to meet the employment needs of those served into the future.
2. Prepare and operate within organizational budgets.
3. Facilitate the hiring, training and professional growth of staff in order to accomplish agency goals.
4. Impart knowledge from an extensive educational and experiential base and maintain an organizational culture consistent with agency values and morals.
5. Monitor program financial and outcome performance and to direct corrective action to maintain efficient, high quality services.
6. Advocate for MRCI clients and assure achievement of positive client outcomes through appropriate programming.
7. Maintain contact with sources of referrals such as Rehabilitation Services Branch, State Services for the Blind, Counties, etc. in order to obtain feedback from them regarding MRCI client services and responsible for informing them regarding MRCI vocational services and responsible for informing potential referral sources about MRCI services.
8. Assure MRCI compliance with accreditation standards and all State and Federal rules and regulations regarding client services.
9. Set short and long range program goals.
10. Assist in MRCI's efforts toward recognizing employees in a positive way and reward employees for desired outcomes in an effort toward higher productivity, better morale and greater retention.
11. Provides professional direction and leadership to the Business Development & Marketing Manager by direct supervision and assisting in creating a comprehensive strategic plan for business development and marketing.
12. Assure consistence in program practice, procedure and policy across all MRCI programs.
13. Responsible for other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

• A Master's Degree from an accredited university with at least eight years of experience rehabilitation program management in addition to strong personal and professional integrity.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, with demonstrated competency and wide-ranging abilities in writing, public speaking, and working with others.
• In addition to a strong commitment to the mission of MRCI, the Chief Operations Officer must be able to set goals, plans, strategies, and outcomes for various rehabilitation and employment programs and the organization as a whole.
• Possess comprehensive knowledge of computer based office software, and have working knowledge of all types of programs used at MRCI.
• A valid Driver's License and reliable transportation is also a requirement of the position as regional travel is required and an expectation that some evening and weekend hours will be worked.
