Compliance Coordinator
Job Summary:
The Compliance Coordinator is responsible for the development, coordination, presentation and evaluation of safety and training programs for all MRCI staff. This position contributes to the overall health and safety of the working environment throughout the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assesses safety, health, and environmental risks that affect employees and clients, develops corrective and preventative measures in relation to these risks. Conducts, compiles, analyzes and interprets findings through safety audits to identify unsafe working conditions, behaviors and practices. Provides training to staff on these measures.
- Provides training for MRCI staff and develops mandatory and elective in-service opportunities. Coordinates use of organizational resources for training and communicates training opportunities throughout the organization.
- Coordinates safety drills including fire, tornado and intruder drills. Reviews all drills to ensure compliance and effectiveness of emergency procedures.
- Reviews all incident reports and emergency exercises to ensure all complaints, accidents, incidents and compliance deviations are fully investigated. Works with supervisors to ensure corrective and preventative measures are taken.
- Ensures compliance of training requirements as defined by rules and regulations governing MRCI, CARF and by organizational policy. Generates annual safety reports and updates management on the status of safety program.
- Facilitates, designs, and plans new hire training with various onboarding programs.
- Oversees that all trainings are recorded on an individual basis including rosters and electronic records. Partners with administrative staff to develop and maintain an organization wide training calendar.
- Maintains compliance of safety and training requirements defined by rules and regulations governing MRCI.
- Develops and monitors the safety and training budget.
- Maintains stock of medical supplies, prepares first aid kits and trains staff as necessary.
- Maintains and updates online training program on InfoSource and College of Direct Supports, as well as appropriate videos, reference materials, and other computer assisted training. Continually seeks methods to improve online training program.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- A Bachelor's or Associate's Degree from an accredited college in a related field with seven years of experience in safety and training.
- Experience in risk management, ergonomics, personnel protective equipment, industrial safety, and accident investigation required.
- Experience working with people with developmental and mental disabilities and their families is helpful.
- Understanding of State and Federal OSHA standards and regulations, employee right-to-know, Workplace Accident and Injury Protection Act (AWAIR), American with Disabilities Act, and Workers Compensation Act.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills. Ability to create employee training for clarity and present training to large groups of employees.
- Ability to be strategic towards business outcomes as well as manage and handle day-to-day details and deadlines.
- Ability to problem solve, demonstrate organizational skills, multi-task and have proficiency in computer based office software.
- Maintain a valid Driver's License with reliable transportation as regional travel is required.
