Day Service Coordinator

MRCI, a non-profit organization creating innovative and genuine opportunities for people with disabilities or disadvantages at home, at work and in the community is hiring for a Day Service Coordinator in Mankato and/or New Ulm, MN.

 

The Day Service Coordinator is a full-time position with day time hours. This position will allow you to give back to the community while having flexibility, full-time benefits, training, and advancement opportunities!

 

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm.

Starting pay is $46,308/year. 

 

Job Summary:

The Day Service Coordinator is responsible for the development and implementation of remote program curriculum. As a strong communicator, the Day Service Coordinator will also ensure regular communication with clients, client teams, funders, employers, co-workers and community members as well as closely tracking all day services activity. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements program curriculum to promote greater community independence and skills of individuals receiving services.
  • Plans and coordinates individualized, community-based activities for program participants.
  • Acts as a Designated Coordinator for all direct reports. Coordinates services and meetings for individuals receiving services and ensures critical information is effectively communicated. Oversees/completes paperwork as required.
  • Monitors the operation of assigned programming to analyze efficiency and effectiveness and institutes changes to maximize effectiveness of the program. 
  • Understands and implements a variety of person-centered planning processes and facilitation techniques.
  • Provides direct support to clients as needed. Duties may include medication administration, use of adaptive equipment, personal care support, and driving.
  • Exceeds revenue goals and maintain budget expenses.
  • Recruits, retains and recognizes a range of volunteers in program delivery.
  • Utilizes technology and processes to ensure timely communication and makes cold calls.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with MRCI's policies and applicable laws. 
  • Works independently, remotely, and does so while collaborating with a team and meeting personal goals.
  • Transports clients in assigned company vehicle.

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Experience providing direct care services to people with disabilities or age 65 and older, preference given to those with experience teaching and/instructing individuals with disabilities, and one of the following qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in a human services related field plus one year of full-time work.
    • Associate's Degree in a human services related field plus two years of full-time work.
    • Diploma in a field related to human services from an accredited postsecondary institution plus three years of full-time work.
    • Four years of full-time work experience under the supervision of a staff person who meets the qualifications listed above and a minimum of 50 hours of education and training related to human services and disabilities.
  • Preference for individuals with a proven successful history in group facilitation as well as one-one-training facilitation.
  • Strong supervisory skills.
  • Practical understanding of business acumen.
  • Sales and customer service experience preferred.
  • Be sensitive to the needs of individuals with disabilities.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills both with clients and customers.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in computer based office software.
  • Must have a valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
  • Must pass a background check through the Department of Human Services and clear a physical exam that proves you meet the demands of the job.
