PCA Program Coordinator
Job Summary:
The PCA Program Coordinator is responsible for understanding and implementing all of the processes required for the PCA Choice program, supervising the PCA Program staff, and working with management to develop goals and initiatives for the program. The individual in this position markets MRCI CDS services to county personnel and clients/representatives in private and public forums, assists to maintain a strong customer-focused culture, remains current with legislative changes and State and Federal rules and regulations that affect the program, and works independently with minimal supervision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for understanding all of the Client Directed Services (CDS) programs and for communicating details of all of these programs to clients, representatives, families and county personnel.
- Lead, develop and coach the PCA Program Specialists.
- Promote systems that ensure appropriate and timely service, and maintain a strong and supportive customer-focused culture.
- Perform as the first point of contact for all client interaction with the CDS Program including: intake, payroll needs, and problem solving.
- Work with minimal supervision, and independently make decisions based on an understanding of the CDS programs, of DHS rules and regulations, and of county guidelines for financial management of federal, state and county funds.
- Remain current with legislative changes, and State and county trends that effect MRCI's CDS programs; respond as needed by assisting with the development of new practices and procedures. Work with the individual counties, DHS and/or other providers to develop CDS 'best practices'.
- Oversee input new budgets and service authorization information, process plan revisions, assist in the processing of payroll, vendor payments, reimbursements and all other processes that are part of providing service to the department's customers; track spending and assist with mailings.
- Assisting new employees with completion of employment packets, completing status change forms as needed, contact clients or representatives for required information and documents.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, plus at least three years of human services experience in the areas of customer service or direct service to clients.
- Experience implementing new program models, preferred.
- Experience supervising in PCA programs or other services in the field of developmental disabilities, such as Qualified Professional, Designated Coordinator or Manager or Home Care background, preferred.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, ability to make decisions, work independently.
- Strong writing, reading and excellent customer service skills.
- Strong problem solving and reasoning skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team to achieve goals and objectives.
- Proficiency in computer based office software including Microsoft Office products.
- A valid Driver's license, a reliable vehicle, and the ability to travel throughout Minnesota.
