MRCI is one of Minnesota's largest and most diverse providers of employment and day services. We are a private, non-profit organization, that serves individuals in Southern Minnesota and the Twin Cities Metro Area.
Job Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the department leader, the Volunteer will work with clients on-site and off-site, using their learned social work skills and tools.
Hours can vary, but are typically Monday-Friday between 8:00am and 4:30pm.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Receives field experience working with MRCI clients, using social work values, ethics and skills by completing some or all of the following:
- Assist with program activities.
- Assist staff in the capacity of a paraprofessional.
- Attend and participate in meetings as requested.
- Communicate with clients and staff.
- Observe staff as they complete care plans and documentation.
- Complete tasks and projects as requested.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Must uphold MRCI's mission and Team Promises.
- Must commit to fifty volunteer hours per year.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Possess strong problem solving, analytical and communication skills.
- Clear a MN Department of Human Services background check.
- Experience with developmental disabilities and/or mental health issues is helpful.
- Must complete 2 (two) hours of mandatory orientation training and training annually thereafter.
